1. How can I access more work?

Many of our content assignments have a limit as to how many you can complete if you are a beginner to that specific task. If you are interested in accessing more work, please review feedback provided by other workers or CrowdSource’s internal team. Make sure to demonstrate a strong understanding of the instructions and feedback by implementing it in your work. Once you successfully display a firm grasp of assignments on a consistent basis, you will have access to more work.

Disclaimer: Some of our assignments allow only a certain number of submissions by one worker during a specific time frame regardless of the level of expertise.

2. What happens if something I submit gets rejected?

If something you submit gets rejected (with or without pay), you will receive feedback outlining the reasons for your rejection. You can find this feedback within MTurk or on CrowdSource’s in-hit notification toolbar. In WorkStation, you can find this information by clicking the Past Work tab, then clicking on the View All Feedback button.

*Please note that a rejection will also affect your overall “approval rating.” If your “approval rating” drops below a certain percentage, you may lose access to some of our tasks. In most cases, however, a small number of rejections will not affect your ability to work. Please make sure to heed the feedback given regarding the rejection to ensure success moving forward. It is also in your best interest to ask questions about task if you are unsure.

3. Can I retake the writing or editing qualification test if I did not pass it the first time?

If you wish to receive an alert when an assessment becomes available again, please visit: http://info.write.com/testing-closed-register-now.

Please make sure to review the Style Guide to ensure your greatest chances of passing.

4. Does it cost me anything to join your team?

No, joining our team is absolutely free.

You may take one of our assessments to gain access to our WorkStation. If you are already a part of our crowd, you still need to take an assessment to acquire qualifications that you do not have.

5. How much are your writers paid?

Payments per project vary depending on the skill and time required to fulfill each assignment. We also reward our top-performing writers and editors with lucrative bonus incentives.

6.  Which writing style guide do you prefer?

We adhere closely to the AP Stylebook, which is optimized for writing, editing and creating content on the web. Please click on the Solutions tab, then click on Official CrowdSource Style Guide for access to our AP Quick Reference Guide.

7.  Why can I not access your writing jobs?

If you are still having trouble accessing our writing assignments after you have taken and passed our writer assessment, please make sure you have submitted your MTurk worker ID. Until we have processed your account and you have received a confirmation email from us, you will not have access to our writing jobs.

If you are not an MTurk worker, please write in the Workforce@CrowdSource.com to have any missing qualifications applied to your account.

8. Are there any forums or chat rooms that I should join?

While not required, there is a worker forum you may join. This forum allows you to interact with other CrowdSource workers. CrowdSource Team members monitor the forum and provide announcements about work when available. To create an account you may click the Forum tab at the top of the page or go directly to Forum.CrowdSource.com.

9. Where can I find my worker ID?

Once you log in to Amazon MTurk, select the “Your Account” tab at the top of the page. You should see the following: “Dashboard: JaneDoe (If you’re not JANEDOE, click here.)” Your worker ID is located directly below this. It is a 14-figure code that always begins with the letter “A."

10. How long does it take Amazon or CrowdSource to transfer money into my account?

For security purposes, Amazon puts a 10-day freeze on your payment account. You must submit 5 HITS per day for 10 days. From the time CrowdSource approves and submits payments, Amazon has 24-48 hour turn-around time to transfer payments to your Amazon Payments account. Once this is complete, the assignment then changes from pending to paid. All balances for payments can be found on your Amazon Payments page.

In WorkStation: After you complete and submit work it must be approved. While it is awaiting approval it appears in the Pending column of your Past Work tab on WorkStation. Once work has been approved the amount to be paid moves to the Owed column. Once the amount that is Owed to you has been paid, that amount/number then moves over to the Earnings column.

Payments are made once a day at or around 9 a.m. CST Monday through Sunday. This means all work that is approved within a 24-hour time period will be paid the next day at 9 a.m. CST.

Approval times have not changed. When you complete work we do our best to approve it as quickly as possible. Sometimes we are able to approve it the same day or the next day, but this is not always the case. Please continue to allow up to 10 business days for work to be approved. Once work is approved, it will be paid on the next day's pay cycle.

11. Where do I provide feedback for the CrowdSource team to see regarding a certain HIT?

Within each task that you complete for CrowdSource, you will see a link that says "Provide feedback regarding this task” or “Note to CrowdSource.” These links will give you an avenue to leave feedback directly to our internal moderation team.

12. What do I do when I get an error message after accepting a task?

If you receive an error message after accepting a task, you may return the task (which does not affect your quality score). In some cases, you may need to make a browser adjustment. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot the issue:

Step One: If you are working within WorkStation and you have already claimed your account by clicking on the link in your invitation, you should only access WorkStation going forward by going directly to work.crowdsource.com.

Step Two: Clear your browser’s cache and history. Click here for instructions.

Step Three: Ensure that you are using the most up-to-date version of your browser. We suggest visiting Download.cnet.com to see if there is a more up-to-date version of your browser that you can install.

Step Four: Try using a different browser.

Check your Past Work to see if the task is reflected in your work history.

If you are experiencing the issue after following these steps, please feel free to contact us.
